User Interface plays a very important role adoption of the Mobile apps…this is clearly demonstrated by iPhone. The sleek UI with Animation of iPhone has been the game change.
With so many UI frameworks(qt,quickconnectfamily, Rhodes, appcelerator) being available , are they making in roads in the MEAP world?

I’m not sure they necessarily can even work together….but I guess an engineer would know better.

White collar app space , yes guis the tools evolve daily. Libraries getting costlier and bulkier. We may see the most happening in BI. The exact opposite requirements we see in blue collar space..it still revolves on vb,c#…the requirements goes like “give me something similar to exist app, I don’t want to retrain folks”

How long do you think this will stay like this in the blue collar space? Don’t you think they would also want slick UIs?

With windows mobiles we don’t see any revolution happening. The biggest impact will be Ipad invading this space and then we get to see ffa2.0 sfa2.0 smart gui apps. And we are talking of weeks or days. Ipads will be a game changer in blue collar space….

I wouldn’t necessarily limit it to the iPad – tablets for sure will have a big impact on this workforce. RIM, Motorola and the other Android tablet makers know this quite well.

The MEAPs that use code generation, will still use lot of UI capabilities of the platform for which code is generated.
MEAP should provide a hole to add your own UI extensions. so for a platform you could write your own
UI. UI should play a major role as no one wants to have an ugly enterprise app on a otherwise sleek device.
This is where the HTML5 story may not be able to match up.
