May I have your attention please?
May I have your attention please?
Will the real Enterprise Mobility Forum please stand up?
I repeat, will the real Enterprise Mobility Forum please stand up?
We’re gonna have a problem here…
Eminem is right. We are indeed going to have a problem here. Today’s missive is a personal note…a very personal note. Now, I have at times gone on rants about silly commentary I have seen on any given topic around enterprise mobility, but today’s is one that is a little too close for comfort.
It’s come to my attention that there’s another organization using the name “Enterprise Mobility Forum.” Let me be very clear in the following statement.
This other organization has absolutely no relation to the original Enterprise Mobility Forum in any way, shape or form.
In fact, until it was brought to my attention yesterday, I had never even heard of them. We are not associated with them, nor have we ever spoken to them. Now, I’m not suggesting that this has occurred, but should you ever hear that they are associated with the EMF, this is categorically false. We have numerous partners, and we are supremely proud of our relationship with those organizations…we are in fact so proud of our partners that we list every single one on our site. Anyone else telling you that they are partnered with the EMF forgot to inform the EMF of that fact.
The Enterprise Mobility Forum has been an idea of mine since November 2009 and came to fruition after many agonizing months of development when the site launched on April 5, 2010. Since then, it has grown to be THE largest independent community in the world solely dedicated to discussing and sharing ideas on best practices for enterprise mobility. This has happened thanks to each and every one of you who have become members and interacted within our community…both online and when we have held events, such as the Enterprise Mobility Bootcamps that we have run at CTIA’s Enterprise and Apps show.
Candidly, it pains me to see that someone else would try to confuse the market by repurposing the name in such a blatant fashion.
Many of you know how fond I am of music….it’s my second passion after enterprise mobility. I guess it would therefore make sense for me to take solace in song. As such, I would ask you to indulge me and let me paraphrase for you Eminem’s words:
‘Cause we’re the Enterprise Mobility Forum, yes we’re the real Forum
All you other Enterprise Mobility Forums are just imitating
So won’t the real Enterprise Mobility Forum please stand up,
please stand up, please stand up?
Will The Real Enterprise Mobility Forum Please Stand Up?
