Battle Of The Titans: The BlackBerry-Only Shop vs. The Windows Mobile-Only Shop

Some companies have made considerable investments in Windows Mobile solutions while others only swear by BlackBerry and the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.  This PowerPoint presentation leverages end-user research to profile and benchmark organizations that have deployed only BlackBerry solutions in order to glean insights into the different approaches to enterprise mobility adoption and their associated benefits.

This study compares those “BlackBerry Only” results to those of organizations that have exclusively deployed Windows Mobile solutions.  While rare in today’s heterogeneous mobility environments, this study provides unique insights into the challenges and benefits of each solution to see which platform is superior to the other.

It may be that the data is nearly 2 years old but the pdf on the Blackberry versus Windows Mobile – way of the mark based on our findings.

We manage mobile devices for many SBE’s and fortune 500 clients and we have NEVER migrated clients to Windows Mobile but have Migrated many to RIM/BES.

I do not need to go on about data compression, push versus pull, third party apps such as Good to manage AS to demostrate why our clients have switched and continue to stay with RIM.

One caveat are the devices themselves (RIM needs a larger screen and better browser) but at the end of the day – clients today are not switching to Windows Mobile.

Fernando – Can you share with the community what you feel is off the mark about the data…or perhaps our intepretation of the data? Your point is well taken that things have changed considerably since the original research was conducted. Have you perchance had the opportunity to look at the latest EMF research on the “Mostly” BlackBerry shop?
